Wrestling

Posts tagged Wrestling cover professional wrestling and the performers who have inspired me, Mick Foley chief among them. Wrestling is easy to dismiss, but the best of it is storytelling, craft, and a willingness to do the hard physical and creative work in front of a crowd.

What draws me is not the spectacle so much as the people. A wrestler like Mick Foley, who wrote a 700-page memoir entirely by hand, is a study in doing the work yourself and respecting your own story enough to tell it well.

These posts look at wrestling through that lens: the people, the craft, and the lessons that carry well beyond the ring.
