Books

Books have been central to my entire life, as a reader first and eventually as an author of well over a hundred of them. This category is where I write about reading, writing, and the books that shaped how I see the world.

I came up as a reader who would devour anything, science fiction and history especially, sitting on the floor of a store working through whatever I could find. That habit never left me, and it is the foundation of everything I have done as a writer since. You cannot write well without having read widely, and you cannot think well without both.
