internet

The internet rearranged human life inside a single generation, and this category is where I write about what that has meant. The good, the bad, and the genuinely strange, from someone who watched it arrive from inside the technology field.

I am old enough to remember the world before all of this, and I worked in computing as the connected world was being built. That gives me a particular vantage point: I can see both what we gained and what we quietly gave up. The internet connected everyone and also handed everyone a megaphone, and we are still working out the consequences.

The posts here cover online behavior, the way the connected world shapes how we think and treat each other, and what it looks like to use these tools without being used by them.
