Posts tagged Mardhavi Sakuntala relate to the bellydance world I documented as a photographer, and the performers and community within it. After taking up photography in 2005, the bellydance community became one of my recurring subjects.

I served as something of a court photographer for the Southern California bellydance scene, capturing performances, dancers, and the culture around them. It was a vibrant world, and photographing it was a privilege.
