Insane trip across the US

Insane trip across the US

Today Mardhavi Sakuntala and I are at the half way point on our insane trip across the United States. We’re in Texas, a nothing town called Ozona. We stopped at Carlosbad Caverns yesterday, which was great fun. Other than that, our trip has mostly consisted of a mad dash across the desert. Our theory is to hustle through the western US because we’ve seen that area, and then have time to spend in the eastern part of the country. Mardhavi has many plots, um, scenic diversions planned for the 2nd half of our trip.

Today is my birthday, and I am now 53 years old. I feel melancholy. I’ve got a lot of changes going on in my life right now.

When I get to Florida a lot will be happening. Hopefully the timing works out as expected. We arrive the evening of the 11th. The movers are supposed to arrive and unload the 12th, and unpack the 13th. I’m hiring a company who will send 2 people to put everything away for me.

Thursday the 14th Mardhavi flies home (you see Nasila, she is coming home) and I, hopefully, will be unpacked and in my new apartment. It’s much bigger than the one I had in California, 1400 square feet, with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday I have a suite reserved in the Oak Cove hotel in Clearwater. My religion has a full weekend of events planned and I want to be there for all of them.

Thus the new book in the series called “Richard’s life” is starting to unfold. It shall be interesting, to say the least.
